The Lake Soccer Club will be forming teams for the Spring outdoor season in both In-house U5, U6 and-U8 divisions. Travel teams from U9 - U14 age groups will be available.

Winter Foot Skills Clinics
Starting January 8th, the Lake Soccer Club will be offering a foot skills clinic every Sunday to all of its players. These sessions will be one hour in length. We will be dividing up the age groups as follows: the first hour (2:00-3:00) will be geared towards the players 4-6 yrs of age, from (3:00-4:00) we will be working with the 7-10 yr olds, and (4:00-5:00) we will work with players between the ages of 11-14. The sessions will be held at the gymnasium in the Lake Elementary School. The cost to each player is $5.00.
Usually, foot skills are the sole focus of player development through the age of 8. The introduction of positions and game concepts can begin at age 9, but foot skills should still be the primary focus of player development throughout the youth programs. Going with this concept kids are not the only beneficiaries of these sessions. Any coach or a parent who is considering coaching might consider attending to learn some simple drills that can be used during practices.
What is needed? Participants will need a soccer ball, shin guards covered by socks, appropriate clothing and something to drink. We will be working on the gym floor so cleats will not be permitted. A player may use indoor flats with a non-marking soles or a plain pair of athletic shoes.
The Lake Soccer Club is offering these sessions to give players an opportunity to keep their feet on the ball, hone up some old skills, and hopefully develop some new ones. There will be no need to register, but the times of the sessions might change depending on the number of kids and the interest level.
